On special shows organized by the station in selected pubs and cinemas, the match was watched by thousands of fans from Cracow, Poznań and Warsaw. They were the first 3D television viewers in Poland. At the same time, the first Polish football broadcast in 3D technology and HD standard was followed by viewers at their homes. CANAL+ team carried out the first live 3D broadcast, straight from the Suche Stawy stadium in Cracow, with the use of a specialist outside broadcast van equipped with 9 state-of-the-art cameras working in stereoscopic technology. It was a unique production undertaking involving work of the team made up of over 40 people including CANAL+ and Multiproduction employees and an international team. It was also on CANAL, again for the first time in Poland, that viewers could watch a three dimensional film on TV. It was the first film made in a classic time lapse technology and photographed in the spatial 3D format "Coraline". Since then, as part of a specially created band CANAL+ 3D, CYFRA+ subscribers may regularly watch three dimensional films, e.g. "Oceanworld 3D", "Saw 3D", "Step Up 3D" and coverages of prestigious sports tournaments, such as, among others, matches between famous teams and the best European football leagues. The company of CANAL+ Cyfrowy contributes to the popularization of stereoscopic technology also in other areas of its operation. The company's flagship station CANAL+ is a co-producer of a film entitled "Flying Machine" - an international production in 3D technology. And it was for CYFRA+ that the first stereoscopic commercial was shown in cinemas in December 2009.

RICH FILM OFFER
AND CO-PRODUCTION OF POLISH FILMS

Cinema apart from sport is the station's programming pillar. Every year CANAL+ presents 500 film premieres from blockbusters made by leading Hollywood studios through the best European and Polish productions. It also regularly keeps up with the most important cinematic events, such as the OSCAR® Awards, Night of César Awards, Golden Globes or the Cannes International Film Festival. It accompanies Polish artists on national festivals, too.

Since its establishment on the Polish market, CANAL+ has been supporting the Polish film industry co-financing valuable film productions. The station invested nearly 200 million zloty in more than 160 films. Among CANAL+ co-productions there are winners of festival laurels which have enjoyed great attendance successes. There are also films by famous directors and sensational debuts, including, among others, "Kiler" ("Killer"), "Kiler-ów 2-óch" ("Two Killers") "Historie miłosne" ("Love Stories"), "Tato" ("The Dad"), "Dług" ("The Debt"), "Chłopaki nie płaczą" ("Boys Don't Cry"), "Pan Tadeusz" ("Pan Tadeusz: The Last Foray in Lithuania"), "Mój Nikifor" ("My Nikifor") "Vinci", "Plac Zbawiciela" ("Saviour Square"), "Oda do radości" ("Ode to Joy"), "Z odzysku" ("Retrieval"), "Sztuczki" ("Tricks"). An international success has been a film by Roman Polański "The Pianist", whose main co-producer was the CANAL+ Group and which in 2003 was awarded 3 OSCARS® by the American Film Academy and the Cannes Golden Palm. Recently CANAL+ has invested its funds in among others an international 3D production "Flying Machine", a picture showered with awards "Essential Killing" by Jerzy Skolimowski as well as"Blind Watching" by Andrzej Jakimowski, "Nowhere" by Małgorzata Szumowska, "Pokłosie" by Władysław Pasikowski and "Papusza" by Krzysztof Krauze. An element of a new programming strategy is an increase in the expenditure spent on co-productions of Polish feature films and the production of own series. In Autumn 2011 the station started shooting two series: "Mission: Afghanistan" with Paweł Małaszyński as the leading actor, and "Krew z Krwi" starring Agata Kulesza. Broadcast of both productions on CANAL+ is planned for 2012.
