THE POLISH FEATURE FILMS FESTIVAL IN GDYNIA

The Polish Feature Films Festival in Gdynia is one of the most important film events in Poland. CANAL+ has been its partner and co-organizer for many years. At the festival the most recent Polish films are presented, retrospectives and special screenings take place, as well as the independent cinema competition is held. Since 1995 in Gdynia CANAL+ has been presenting films made with the station's financial participation. Year after year the festival broadens its scope. In 2011 it will take place in 5 cities: Warsaw, Cracow, Gdańsk, Poznań and Wrocław.

CANAL%2B HAVE BEEN SUPPORTING THE NOWE HORYZONTY FILM FESTIVAL

The NOWE HORYZONTY Festival is one of the most interesting and the most important film events in Poland. This summer festival, held in the last years in Cieszyn, is an encounter of cinema lovers for whom the film equals not only good entertainment but also a favourite type of art. NOWE HORYZONTY means: interesting feature films, original documentaries and miscellaneous special events.

FILMS OF THE WORLD FESTIVAL ALE KINO%2B

The film channel ale kino+ has been co-organizing the festival of FILMS OF THE WORLD ALE KINO+. The idea of the festival is to bring viewers closer to the cinematography portraying cultures outside of the so-called Western World. Thanks to their originality and freshness these films are an important and sought after source of inspiration, unforgettable experiences and knowledge of the modern world and man.

PLANETE%2B HAS BEEN A TITLE PARTNER OF THE PLANETE DOC FILM FESTIVAL

PLANETE DOC is one of the most important reviews of the latest works by world documentary-film makers. It presents the best full-length documentaries from different countries, enabling the audience to learn about their makers' various looks at the modern world.

THE REVIEW OF CULINARY FILMS kuchnia%2B food film fest

kuchnia+'s own project whose first edition took place in 2009. The event's programme apart from film screenings includes meetings with specially invited guests- film makers and protagonists, experts in and lovers of culinary art as well as nutrition specialists. The aim of kuchnia+ tv food film fest organizers is to bring culinary culture in its broad sense closer to the Polish audience, present "grand cuisine" and variety of tastes concealed within it, as well as show that eating is one of the greatest and most accessible everyday pleasures.

CANAL%2B HAS BEEN A PARTNER OF THE HELSINKI FOUNDATION FOR HUMAN RIGHTS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 'WATCH DOCS. HUMAN RIGHTS IN FILM.'

WATCH DOCS. Human rights in film is the world's second largest festival about human rights and the third largest Polish film festival. All over Poland it gathers a total number of more than 70,000 viewers a year. WATCH DOCS is the oldest Warsaw documentary films festival.

CANAL%2B COACH'S ACADEMY

CANAL+ Cyfrowy is preparing a pilot programme for the benefit of youth sport entitled Coach's Academy. The foundation of the Programme is a system of training young footballers in the form of 5 DVDs, prepared by experts. CANAL+ Cyfrowy addresses its Coach's Academy programme mainly to children's and youth football teams. The programme will involve children and youth from 6 to 18 years old. The project anticipates the involvement of local communities in the promotion of sport and physical activity.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR CHILDREN INITIATIVE

On December 10, 2003, The CANAL+ Cyfrowy Company (the operator of digital platform CYFRA + and the producer of children's channels teleTOON+ and MiniMini+) put forward a proposal to establish a discussion forum concerned with specifying the standards for tv commercials aimed at young children, viewers of MiniMini+ channel.

CANAL%2B HAS BEEN PARTICIPATING IN THE FRIENDLY MEDIA INITIATIVE

On February 25, 1999, The Polish Broadcasters'Agreement "Friendly Media" was signed in order to protect the youngest viewers. CANAL+ was one of the signatories to this agreement.

CANAL%2B HAS BEEN THE CO-FOUNDER OF THE SYGNAŁ TV PROGRAM DISTRIBUTORS' ASSOCIATION ESTABLISHED ON THE BASIS OF AN AGREEMENT 'AGAINST PIRACY'

Television signal theft violates the rights of broadcasters, licence and programmes distributors, and, above all, subscribers of pay tv stations. The members of the association Sygnał attempt to disseminate information on how damaging piracy is to society.

CANAL%2B CYFROWY HAS BEEN COLLABORATING WITHIN THE PAYMENT ORDER COALITION

Payment Order is a simple, safe and quick form of making regular payments. Millions of Europeans make use of Payment Order to settle their bills for, e.g., telecommunications services, pay tv subscriptions, national insurance contributions, electricity, rents, loan repayments etc.

CHARITY



The company of CANAL+ Cyfrowy supports selected facilities operating for the benefit of children by offering them free access to programmes broadcast on the CYFRA+ platform. From among the educational facilities which have received the gift there are those operating under the auspices of TPD (Society of Children's Friends) as well as other childcare and healthcare centres. Employees of CANAL+ Cyfrowy also organize Christmas and occasional charity collections of money and gifts for children's homes and victims of natural disasters in need or shelters for homeless animals.

MEDIA STARTER



Since 2006, for five years, CANAL+ Cyfrowy ran MediaStarter, the first scheme in Poland concerning media education for lower secondary school students. As part of the programme trainings for teachers from all over Poland were organized preparing them to implement the media education programme in schools. In total, about 700 teachers from 30 cities were trained. At the same time, each year a competition for young journalists was organized entitled "Topic counts" touching upon community and social issues of importance to young people. MediaStarter was carried out under the honorary patronage of the Ministry of National Education, Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the Polish Committee for UNESCO.
Since 2011 CYFRA+ has been supporting the activity of the Child's Fantasy Foundation whose mission is to make the dreams of incurably ill children all over Poland come true.
